However, before this Russia has achieved this feat. Russia has released the trailer of ‘The Challenge’, the first feature film shot in space. In the year 2021, the film was shot on the International Space Station (ISS) for 12 days.

The Challenge, releasing April 20, will be the first feature-length film to be shot in space by the actors and director. The film is about a female cardiac surgeon, Zhenya. Jhunia is part of a team of doctors and is sent to the space station to save the life of an astronaut. Will she be able to succeed in her mission? This is shown in the film. Russian actress Yulia Peresild plays Zhenya in the film. Oleg Novitsky will be seen in the role of cosmonaut. According to reports, the film is a joint project of Russian space agency Roscosmos, Russia’s Channel One and Yellow, Black and White Studios.

The film was shot in October 2021 at the International Space Station. A few months later, in February, Russia invaded Ukraine. The Russian Space Agency announced this film in the year 2020. Yulia Peresild, 37, was chosen for the role of Zhenya in the film. The Challenge trailer has been released on Roscosmos TV. Seeing the trailer of about 3 minutes, it is known that how brilliantly the actors have played their characters in space.

According to information, the film’s actress Yulia Peresild and producer-director Klim Shipenko traveled to the International Space Station with Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov. The film was shot for 12 days on the ISS. It is worth noting that this is the first feature length film shot on the ISS, but not the first project.

Astronauts are said to have shot a short film aboard the Soyuz T-9 in Soviet times. Another short science fiction short story ‘Apogee of Fear’ has been shot in space. The Daily Mail wrote that the Challenge cost around 1.115 billion rubles (£12.4 million) (1.21 billion rupees) to make.
